• Have no scarring on the cornea
• Understand the risks of LASIK surgery
• Have realistic expectations regarding achievable results
• Are not nursing or pregnant at the time of surgery
• Do not suffer from dry eye syndrome
• Have pupils that do not dilate beyond seven millimeters in the dark
• Are free of certain eye disorders and diseases such as vascular disease

Individuals who do not qualify for LASIK many qualify for other types of laser surgery, such as PRK, LASEK or IntraLase.
